THE DEVICE ALLOWS ONE TO:
OPERATING PRINCIPLE:
The ultrasonic cavitation unit generates an alternating electric current of ultrasonic frequency, which is fed to the piezoceramic elements of the ultrasonic handpiece. Piezoceramic elements of the ultrasonic handpiece convert alternating electric current into reciprocating oscillatory movements of waveguide instruments. Contact and non-contact effects on biological tissues are carried out using waveguide instruments.
OPERATION MODES:
I. MODES FOR ULTRASONIC EXPOSURE
«BASIC» - the main mode is intended for intensive contact and non-contact ultrasonic exposure on biological tissues for their intensive cleansing, fragmentation and removal of purulent-necrotic tissues, as well as for ultrasonic treatment of purulent cavities with the highest productivity
Functional purpose of the mode:
- necrectomy and fragmentation of purulent-necrotic tissues are performed during contact treatment with an activated ultrasonic tip
- during non-contact irrigation of the drug solution with an ultrasonic tip a directed cavitated jet is created, which helps to perform intensive cleansing of tissues from purulent-necrotic masses and impregnation of the drug into tissues
- when the activated ultrasonic tip is immersed in a cavity filled with a medicinal solution, intensive cavitation bubbling and mixing of the solution helps to cleanse and sanitize the purulent-necrotic cavity
«SELECTIVE» - selective mode provides gentle contact and non-contact ultrasonic treatment of biological tissues. Can be used to treat and fragment tissue adjacent to critical structures such as granulation tissue, neurovascular formations, etc. The mode provides increased tissue selectivity
Functional purpose of the mode:
- selective destruction and fragmentation of necrotic tissues is performed with minimal damage to healthy tissues during contact treatment by an activated ultrasonic tip
- during non-contact irrigation of the drug solution with an ultrasonic tip a cavitated finely dispersed jet is created, which helps moisturizing and applying a thin layer of the drug on the tissues for the cleansing
- when the activated ultrasonic tip is immersed in a cavity filled with a medicinal solution, gentle cavitation bubbling and mixing of the solution helps to gently cleanse and sanitize the purulent-necrotic cavity
II. MODES FOR SUPPLY/REMOVE LIQUIDS FROM THE CAVITY TO BE TREATED:
«IRRIGATION» - a mode for supplying a medicinal solution to the treated area through the internal irrigation channel of the ultrasonic instrument.
«SUCTION» - a mode for removing fluids from the field of surgical or therapeutic operations.
LOW-FREQUENCY ULTRASONIC OSCILLATIONS GENERATED BY THE DEVICE "ACTITON-A" CAUSE THE FOLLOWING EFFECTS IN TISSUES:
PHYSICAL
Cavitation - is the formation of microbubbles filled with gas and/or vapor in a liquid. Bubble ruptures at the border with the wound surface lead to the removal of plaque, mechanical destruction of bacteria, and micromassage of the underlying tissues.
Cavitation bubbling - is the process of mixing liquid in cavity by waves of cavitation bubbles moving at high speed. When the cavitation bubbles collapse, areas with high pressure appear in the liquid and cause shock wave, as a result the wound surface is effectively cleansed of necrotic tissues and the impregnation of medicinal solutions into the tissue is enhanced.
Thermal effect - occurs when the ultrasonic tip touches the tissue. The energy of mechanical vibrations turns into heat and causes expansion of the vessels of the microcirculatory bed at low power and coagulation and dissection of tissues at high power.
The disintegration of water molecules - is the formation of hydrogen peroxide and short-lived free radicals - hydrogen and oxygen ions under the influence of ultrasonic waves.
Fragmentation - crushing, disintegration of tissues, changes in structure, transition into a colloidal state. Fragmentation of tissues occurs due to direct contact of the tip with the tissue, vibration of the liquid, exposure to high and negative pressure waves, as well as the effect of cavitation.
BIOLOGICAL
Bactericidal effect - occurs due to the processes of cavitation, disintegration of cell membranes of microorganisms and the action of free radicals and hydrogen peroxide. Ultrasonic exposure also increases the sensitivity of microorganisms to disinfectants, so the concentration of antiseptics in combination with ultrasonic treatment can be reduced by tens and hundreds times.
Tissue micromassage - occurs at moderate (pre-cavitation) levels of exposure and leads to improved microcirculation in tissues, stimulation of intracellular biosynthesis and acceleration of regenerative processes.
Blood vessels permeability changes - under the influence of ultrasound, the permeability of the walls of blood vessels increases.
DEPENDING ON THE INSTRUMENTS AND METHODOLOGY USED, THE DEVICE IMPLEMENTS TWO MAIN TYPES OF IMPACT:
- with the transmission of ultrasonic vibrations - this is the effect of ultrasonic vibrations on tissues directly through the instrument during contact ultrasonic treatment or through an in-between medium (liquid)
- without the transmission of ultrasonic vibrations - there is no direct effect of ultrasound on tissues, but there is a combined effect of jet irrigation and a cavitated (activated by ultrasound) solution with a non-contact effect on tissues by a cavitation jet. The cavitated liquid is characterized by the presence of cavitation bubbles and active chemicals - hydrogen peroxide and free radicals
FEATURES OF ULTRASONIC INSTRUMENTS AND ACCESSORIES:
- instruments and ultrasonic handpieces of the device are reusable and sterilize by autoclaving
- there is a possibility to use a protective cover to protect the treated tissues from unwanted touching by an activated ultrasonic instrument
- ultrasonic handpieces and instruments with an internal irrigation channel for supplying a medicinal solution, which provides cavitation of solutions and long-term operation without additional cooling
- ultrasonic handpieces with interchangeable ultrasonic instruments of various configurations
- safe design of the ultrasonic handpiece prevents the transmission of vibrations to the doctor's hands
